Ian Blewitt has a history working in the steel and mining industry since 2009, working on industrial locations specifically with people in the Illawarra area. Ian worked in management for 18 years and struggled to find a new way of gauging productivity outcomes in his manufacturing role. This drove Ian to a lifestyle course in massage and onwards to a career change into the health care industry.
Since expanding his practice and experience, Ian has also worked specifically with sports & fitness participants, including Cross Fit, Marathon Runners, Trail Runners, Cyclists (on & off road), Triathletes, Ironmen, Boot Camp, Tuff Mudder, Spartan, Power Lifters. His varied experience sees him able to address all manner of athletic performance and genres with a succinct and understanding principle.
Ian first came to the sports realm via the Newtown Jets Rugby League Club, whom he approached as a burgeoning therapist. Working with this group for 3 years gave Ian an understanding of athletic performance, requirements and the ability to understand on field performance. Treating injuries both impact & repetitive strain injuries, as well as chronic & acute conditions
Working in injury management in the mining sector, Ian found working with individuals who were struggling to commit to preventative programs for ongoing health management, Ian investigated other methods of symptom relief and was drawn to Myofascial Dry Needling Technique. He completed his Graduate Certificate in this modality in 2011 and has been incorportating this technique in his treatment protocols ever since.
Ian has had much success treating acute conditions and getting results with Sciatica, Whiplash, Frozen Shoulder and Plantar Fasciitis. He has also had in depth experience with cramping, spasms, tendinous strains and sprains, as well as more symptomatic issues such as bursitis, headaches and acute joint pain and movement issues.
